Among working on other things and trying to find employment so I don’t become homeless, I have been working on getting my paintings ready for photographing to make prints. Lighting as proven most difficult since many of my paintings are on wood backgrounds and I do enjoy the wood fibers peeking out under the paint. But that makes it hard to get a good photo. Its stunning when you look at it with your own eyes, yet not so much when the digital eye takes a gander. What else has been happening. As you can see I’ve updated my site again. I have been with Etsy for 15 years and I have been wanting to say goodbye to it for quiet some time. I can’t say when exactly it became more a hindrance than a tool for my business, but this past year I had to wonder why I was jumping through all these extra hoops for Etsy AND they wanted an extra 12-15% on top of the 6.5% fee, which does NOT include the credit card processing fees. All the ranting aside, I decided that I’d rather pay a flat fee each month than nearly 20% of my sales each month. Plus I wouldn’t be penalized for not offering free
