Austin Wizard World 2017 Review

Yep that’s me, in all my glory.

This year I had a table in the Artist Alley of Austin Wizard World 2017 and while it was smooth operating from artist load in to load out, I believe this will be my last year attending as an Artist.  I enjoyed seeing everyone’s costumes and cosplays, they were all fantastic and a lot of great flashbacks to the films and games I enjoyed when I was growing up.  However, I think that WW ended up pricing the average folk out of attending; even with the swanky discount they allowed me to give out on tickets.  I met a lot of great people and made a lot of new connections and while I didn’t get to go to any of the panels, I heard that they were all fantastic and wonderful.

The lines this year weren’t bad as attendance was rather low and oh wow did I get an awesome moment when one of my patrons had their Firefly Flask signed by several of the cast members that also had been in attendance.  Also, I enjoyed being Target Lady for a day, eating my half a peanut, checking people out and calling people over.  I even braved getting up on stage for the costume contest if only to yell out Target in awesome Kristen Wiig fashion. The whole embracing thing was caught on video although I might never have the nerve to upload it.  Oh well.  I did enjoy myself.  Below are pictures of people that I felt were Honorable Mentions for costumes.  You guys get all the brownie points from me!
